A 30-year-old man has been apprehended by the police for allegedly molesting a minor girl in Andheri, a suburb of Mumbai, as reported on Thursday.
The incident transpired on December 6 when the nine-year-old girl was playing outside her residence. An unidentified man inappropriately touched the girl while engaging in conversation with her, according to an official. Following a complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, an FIR (First Information Report) was filed under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with the intent to outrage her modesty) and provisions of the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) against the accused.
Utilizing CCTV footage from the area and conducting technical analysis, the police successfully tracked down the man. Subsequently, he was arrested after interrogation, as confirmed by the official.
