SRINAGAR: There is no let-up in the cross-LoC shelling, especially in Rajouri and Poonch sectors, in the past 24 hours. Police and reporters from these areas said that three men in uniform were killed in the past two days. On Friday, Army soldiers were killed in the Sunderbani area of Rajouri, police said.
An Army spokesman in Jammu said that the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani Sector of District Rajouri on 27 November. Two soldiers of the Indian Army—Naik Prem Bahadur Khatri and Rifleman Sukhbir Singh—got critically injured and later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.
Earlier on Thursday, a JCO was killed and a civilian was injured on the LoC in Poonch district. There are reports that the heavy shelling has damaged many houses in Rajouri and Poonch sectors in the past 24 hours.
The villagers who are living near the LoC are living a miserable life and most of them are thinking to migrate to safer places as the shells are landing in their homes and also injuring them.
