Vienna Hintze, a 29-year-old Syracuse University graduate, left her corporate job to start her own flower truck business and now earns $16,000 (approximately ₹13 lakh) per month. Hintze, who previously worked in advertising and marketing in New York City, felt unfulfilled despite creating her own digital marketing agency at the age of 24.
“I was kind of losing the why behind what I was doing,” Hintze shared with CNBC Make It. “I had moved out to LA and something just wasn’t working anymore. I had changed everything about my life except my agency,” she added.
Prompted by a conversation with her therapist, Hintze made a list of her ideal job characteristics: working with friends, being outdoors, interacting with people, and owning an old pickup truck. This led her to establish Main Street Flower Truck in August 2023.
Since its launch, the business has generated around $44,000 (approximately ₹36 lakh) in revenue and an additional $4,500 (₹3.7 lakh) in cash. In May 2024 alone, Hintze’s business earned $16,000 (approximately ₹13 lakh).
“If you’re living with your happiness, the money will follow,” she said.
However, Hintze acknowledged that her earnings vary due to the seasonal nature of flowers, with peaks during holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.
The inspiration for Main Street Flower Truck came from her parents. Her father, a former firefighter, commuted in a pickup truck, and her mother had a passion for gardening, filling their backyard with blooming flowers. “Some of my favorite memories with my dad were driving around in his little pickup truck,” Hintze recalled.
Hintze named her company after Main Street, the street where she grew up, as a tribute to her childhood and the fond memories of her parents.
