New Delhi: Four more cases of the highly contagious new mutant strain of the novel coronavirus were detected in the country on Friday. The Union Health Ministry has informed that the strain has affected 29 people so far.

Out of the four cases, three were found in a Bengaluru lab, while one was detected in a lab in Hyderabad. All 29 patients have been kept in isolation at designated health facilities.

According to experts, the new strain is said to be more contagious than the other strains of the coronavirus. It has been detected in several other countries including Australia, France, Spain and Germany.
