The Australia Today stated that a 28-year-old Indian student was stabbed multiple times last week near the intersection of Pacific Highway and Gatacre Avenue Lane Cove in Sydney, Australia. The man sustained wounds to his face, chest, and abdomen.
The Indian foreign student, identified as Shubham Garg, is in critical condition following surgery. Before being admitted to Royal North Shore Hospital, Shubham reportedly received assistance from a nearby house.
The suspect, Daniel Norwood, was detained by Sydney Police and has been charged with attempt to murder.
According to reports, on October 6 at around 10:30 pm, close to the Pacific Highway at Lane Cove in Sydney, Shubham was walking when he was approached by an unidentified male.
The victim was allegedly threatened and asked for his phone and money by the accused. When Shubham objected, the accused allegedly stabbed him many times in the abdomen before running away.
After the incident, the detectives from the North Shore Police Area Command established a Strike Force Prosy to look into it.
NSW police have seized several items from the residence of the accused. The objects have been forwarded for forensic analysis.
Until December 14, Daniel Norwood will be held in custody.
