In a significant upheaval within the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), 22 party leaders have jointly tendered their resignations, citing frustration over being denied tickets for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Among the notable figures resigning are former minister Renu Kushwaha, former MLA and national general secretary of LJP, Satish Kumar, state organization minister Ravindra Singh, Ajay Kushwaha, Sanjay Singh, and State General Secretary Rajesh Dangi.
The surge of resignations appears to originate from internal discontent within the party, with accusations emerging regarding the distribution of tickets in exchange for financial favors.
Expressing her discontent with the party, former MP Renu Kushwaha commented, “Tickets should be given to party workers rather than outsiders. Awarding tickets to outsiders suggests a dearth of capable individuals within the party. Are we merely laborers in your party, expected to toil for you and elevate you to leadership? Our loyalty was questioned when an outsider was favored with a ticket. We are not here to serve as mere laborers for the party.”
Expressing dissatisfaction over the ticket denial, former MLA and national general secretary of LJP Satish Kumar asserted that the dissenting LJP leaders would now throw their support behind the INDIA alliance.
“In such crucial elections, the LJP supremo has allocated tickets to individuals that have left party workers stunned. Those who ardently hailed ‘Hail Chirag Paswan’ and envisioned a ‘new Bihar’ have been betrayed, and their aspirations shattered. Now, to safeguard the country, we must back the INDI alliance,” he declared.
The party’s Organization Secretary Ravindra Singh alleged that Chirag Paswan “sold the tickets.” “Chirag Paswan has played a manipulative game with the people of Bihar. When he secured five seats owing to our hard work, he traded all those tickets. The people of Bihar will give him a fitting response,” Singh remarked.
The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) is vying for five out of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar – Vaishali, Hajipur, Samastipur, Khagaria, and Jamui.
Bihar will witness polling in seven phases, commencing with the first phase on April 19, followed by the second on April 26, the third on May 7, the fourth on May 13, the fifth on May 20, the sixth on May 25, and the seventh on June 1.
