In a road accident near Gurthari Village in Bathinda, at least two people died following the head-on-collision of their motorcycle with a bus on Sunday which later burst into flames.

Meanwhile, in a telephonic conversation Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dehati Narendra Singh said, “The deceased persons included a man from the district Mansa of Punjab while the woman hailed from the village Pathrala in Bhatinda.”

However, the deceased person’s identity has not been identified yet.

The accident occurred when a private bus was heading towards Maur Mandhi from Rajasthan’s Salasar and the bike collided with the bus.

After the accident, the duo was taken to the Bhatinda Civil Hospital but later succumbed to the injuries.

According to the Sangat Police Station in Bhatinda during the time of the accident, no person on the bus was present.

However, the fire tenders also reached the spot and controlled it later.
