Union home minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a scathing attack on the Congress over its spokesperson referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Narendra ‘Gautam Das’ Modi.
Addressing a poll rally in Nagaland, Shah said people would respond to “derogatory remarks” made by the Congress against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by routing them out in the upcoming polls. “Congress is definitely going to get extinct this time,” Shah said.
Shah’s response came after Pawan Khera’s clip from his presser last week went viral. Khera mocked the name of Prime Minister and that of his father in relation to the opposition party’s allegations on the Adani issue.
“Why are you running away from a debate in Parliament? Why are you scared of JPC? Even PV Narasimha Rao and Atal Bihari Vajpayee set up JPC during their stints as prime ministers. What problem does Narendra ‘Gautam Das’ , ‘Damodadardas’ have with JPC? It is Damodardas right. His name is Damodardas but deeds are of ‘Gautam Das’,” Khera was heard saying. The Bharatiya Janata Party has hit out at Khera, who referred to the prime minister as Narendra ‘Gautam Das’ Modi. The Congress later tweeted that he was ‘genuinely confused’ over PM Modi’s middle name. BJP leader Amit Malviya hit out at Khera on Monday and said in a tweet that Congress has repeatedly targeted PM Modi for his humble origins and now they haven’t even spared his dead father. “Why are you running away from a debate in Parliament?
