The 131st National Dussehra Fair is set to be inaugurated on October 3 at the Dussehra Ground in Kota. Divisional Commissioner Rajendra Vijay held a preparatory meeting at the CAD campus and subsequently visited the fairground to review the arrangements.
During his visit, Vijay emphasized the unique identity of Kota’s Dussehra Fair, which has garnered fame across the nation. He stated the importance of hosting the fair on a grand scale to attract tourists both domestically and internationally, enhancing Kota’s profile on the tourism map. He suggested showcasing the tourism potential of the Kota Division during the fair by collaborating with local tourism and hotel industry representatives.
To further promote the fair, Vijay proposed inviting coaching students from various parts of the country to attend, encouraging them to become brand ambassadors for Kota’s tourism by sharing their experiences in their home cities. He also recommended setting up a tourism department stall at the fair to highlight Kota’s attractions, including its sanctuaries and cultural heritage.

In terms of security, the Divisional Commissioner stressed the need for tight measures, instructing the installation of CCTV cameras and adequate police presence. He also called for ensuring high-quality food at the stalls and maintaining cleanliness throughout the fairgrounds.

Vivek Rajvanshi, Chairman of the Fair Organizing Committee, shared that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be the chief guest at the inauguration. The fair will kick off with Durga Puja at 9 AM, followed by Ramlila performances in the evening at Shri Ram Rangmanch, and a dance drama titled “Durga” at Vijay Shri Rangmanch at 7:30 PM.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including Municipal Corporation North Commissioner Ashok Tyagi, Municipal Corporation South Commissioner Anurag Bhargava, ADM City Anil Singhal, and Additional Superintendent of Police City Dilip Saini.
