In the Aligarh region of Uttar Pradesh, three men are accused of gang-raping a 13-year-old girl while simultaneously filming the incident on a cell phone.
According to a TOI report, the situation just recently came to light after the mother of the survivor lodged a complaint at the Harduaganj police station.
The mother of the young girl also alleged in her complaint that the neighbour, a woman, was one of the three people charged in the case.
The complainant claimed that the defendant threatened to post the video on social media if the defendant’s daughter disclosed the sexual assault to anybody.
The police detained all four accused after receiving a complaint, and they also detained the woman in connection with the case.
The woman allegedly deceived the 13-year-old and locked her in a room at her residence on a Sunday afternoon, according to the complainant. The three accused males allegedly then attacked her in a group there. An official was quoted as saying that they freed the girl in the evening after filming the crime on a mobile phone camera.
When the young girl arrived home, she told her family about the incident. They immediately went to the local police station to file a report, but the policemen there allegedly put pressure on them to compromise with the accused.
However, on Monday, when higher officials learned about the situation, they filed an FIR, she continued.
