India recorded 12,584 new cases of coronavirus, the lowest in around seven months, taking the country’s Covid-19 caseload to 1,04,79,179. The death toll increased to 1,51,327 with 167 fatalities in last 24 hours. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,01,11,294 pushing the national Covid-19 recovery rate to 96.49 percent, while the Covid-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.44 percent.
Maharashtra reported 2,936 fresh coronavirus positive cases, taking the tally of infections to 19,74,488. With 50 more people succumbing to the viral disease, the cumulative death toll in the state mounted to 50,151. A total of 3,282 patients were discharged after treatment during the last twenty-four hours, taking the total count of recoveries in Maharashtra to 18,71,120, adding that the state is now left with 51,892 active cases.
Delhi recorded as many as 386 fresh coronavirus cases in last twenty-four hours. With this, the tally of Covid-19 cases in the national capital has reached over 6.30 lakh, while the death toll mounted to 10,707. Sixteen fatalities have been recorded in the last 24 hours. The case tally stands at 6,30,892 in the national capital, including 6,17,006 patients who have either been discharged or have migrated or recovered. The number of active cases is 3,179, of which 1,383 are in home isolation.
Uttar Pradesh reported 511 fresh coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, raising the tally to 5,94,175. The death toll due to the infection has reached 8,514 with 10 more fatalities being reported in the past 24 hours.
Haryana reported eight more Covid-19 fatalities that took the death toll to 2,964, while 192 fresh cases pushed the state’s infection tally to 2,65,391. One fatality each was reported from Gurgaon, Panchkula, Yamunanagar, Mahindergarh, Jhajjar and Palwal districts while two deaths were from Sonipat. The number of active cases in the state is 2,441 and as many as 2,59,986 people have recovered. The recovery rate is 97.96 per cent.
Kerala reported 5,507 new Covid-19 cases and 4,270 recoveries in last 24 hours. Total recoveries were recorded at 7,51,659. Active cases in the state currently stand at 64,556. Tamil Nadu reports 671 new Covid-19 cases, 827 recoveries and 8 deaths in last 24 hours. Total cases stand at 8,27,614, Total recoveries stood at 8,08,571. Meanwhile death toll surged to 12,236.Active cases in the state stand at 6,807.
