On a crisp February evening, the world glimmered with the promise of another thrilling night on the slopes. The ski area was my sanctuary, with snow-covered trails, a canvas for my pursuit of exhilaration. Every run was a dance with gravity, a testament to my love for the sport that fueled my spirit and drove me to push boundaries. Alpine skiing and giant slalom ski racing were more than just a passion. Skiing was an integral part of my existence, woven into juggling work, family, and my final semester of college. What was supposed to be another exciting night of skiing quickly turned into a near-death experience that redefined my entire life. <\/p>\n
On that fateful night, an ordinary descent down the trail transformed into a battle for survival in the blink of an eye. As I glanced down at the snow to view my tracks from the previous run, shock arose as I saw how close my tracks were to the trail’s edge. Knowing it was an unsafe line, I continued skiing the dangerous line, vowing this would be the last time I skied that close to the edge. Suddenly, I was thrown off balance. Relying on my advanced-level skiing skills, I remained calm and initiated what should have been a life-saving move. I threw all my weight to the right in an attempt to get my body onto the open trail, away from the edge. When that attempt failed, my mind was instantly confused. How was it possible that I defied gravity? Two more attempts also failed! <\/p>\n
In those speeding seconds, my mind raced as fast as my descent. Somehow, I ended up on the snow, sliding rapidly, but I was not on the trail. Instead, I was on the other side of a vertical water pipe along the trail. Now, I was dangerously close to bushes with trees a little further back in the wooded area. My mind went blank as I scrambled to think of a way out of this situation. In a split second, I saw my destiny coming up rapidly. My body was positioned so that I would slam into a wood post approximately five to six inches wide. As my body wrapped around the wooden post, the impact immediately lacerated my liver. Medically, I was dying, and no one saw me fall. No one would be expected to look for me for a couple more hours. <\/p>\n
The angels arrived before panic could begin. It felt like thousands of angels surrounded me with an indescribable sense of deep peace and unconditional love. As I lay on the snow, my guardian angel began to speak in the most beautiful voice I have ever heard.The excruciating pain became unbearable against the harsh winter winds. My mind drifted as I wondered if I would survive or even be found while still conscious. Yet each time my mind questioned my fate, my guardian angel reassured me with wisdom and hope. Among her guidance, one sentence rose above the rest. To endure the excruciating pain, she said, “Live life one second at a time.” And so, in the vast silence of the frozen landscape, I fought for my life, surrounded by endless love from angels. <\/p>\n
Angelic wisdom came to me when I needed it most. My guardian angel\u2019s voice was clear; her words, etched into my soul, helped me endure the situation. As each second faded into the past, I was one second closer to reclaiming a good life. Over the years, those words from my guardian angel have remained with me. Living life one second at a time can also be applied to any challenge. Whether it is living one second, hour, or day at a time, the angels are always nearby. <\/p>\n
After the near-death experience, the angels delivered a profound message to record notes for a future book. Unsure and still healing, I began jotting down notes, not knowing where it would lead. Years later, the angels nudged me to begin writing to share the story with the world. Their encouragement and support were strong, while the timing was divine. What began as scattered notes blossomed into a work of heart and soul. “Living Life One Second at a Time” <\/em>is a testament to resilience, angelic wisdom, and an extraordinary healing journey. <\/p>\n Define what it truly means for you to live life to the fullest. Then, follow that to design the life that you desire. Living a fulfilling life is often found within life’s simple moments, where life’s most cherished memories are formed.
